Amazfit GTR 3 Pro Limited Edition, Specification, Availability, and Price in Nepal

The GTR 3 Pro limited edition is the best smartwatch that Amazfit has made so far, and it also has one of the highest prices. It’s big, it’s beautiful, and even though it runs Zepp OS, which is a fairly new platform, it has everything it needs to be something special. If some bugs are fixed, the Amazfit GTR 3 Pro limited edition could be a great smartwatch for people who want a touch of class.

Design & build

  • Two colors
  • 5ATM swim proofing

Many smartwatches and fitness trackers try to have rounded corners and a few buttons, but the Amazfit GTR 3 Pro Limited edition is dominated by its big, circular display, which has two buttons on one side.

This makes it look more like a classic watch, with a timeless design and easy-to-use controls. One button opens the apps menu, and another button opens all the workouts (but can be customized).

On the bottom of the watch, next to the charging port, you’ll find SpO2 monitors (which measure blood oxygen) and heart rate monitors.

It’s important to note that the GTR 3 Pro Limited Edition doesn’t have the same rugged design as the Amazfit T-Rex or T-Rex Pro, and you can’t change it as much as you can with those two models. You can choose either the brown leather strap or the black fluoroelastomer strap. The aluminum body comes in black or silver, called Brown Leather or Infinite Black, depending on the color you choose.

The GTR 3 Pro Limited Edition does have 5ATM water resistance, so you could swim up to 50m deep in theory.

  • 1.45in circular AMOLED
  • 150 included watch faces
  • Always-on display

The display is the part of the GTR 3 Pro Limited Edition that stands out the most. The circular AMOLED screen doesn’t have a real bezel, so the colors and blacks almost spill off the edges. This lets you see deep blacks and bright colors.

It’s 1.45 inches, has a pixel density of 331ppi, and can get as bright as 1000 nits. This means that you can always read the GTR 3 Pro’s display in direct sunlight, whether you’re looking at the time, tracking your workout, or using one of the animated watch faces.

There are more than 150 watch faces to choose from, and many of them can be changed. All of the ones we’ve tried look great.

Software & features

  • Zepp OS
  • Alexa or offline voice assistance
  • Android 7.0 and up/iOS 12.0 and up

The Zepp OS is what the Amazfit GTR 3 Pro Limited Edition’s user interface is made of, and it has a ton of features with a focus on working out and tracking fitness and health metrics.

Zepp OS has its own smart assistant that is always on (Amazon’s Alexa helps with online help), and the large screen makes icons and text easier to read than on any competitor we’ve seen.

There are stress trackers and cycle trackers, and some of them also have GPS tracking built-in. That’s great because it means users can track a walk, run, or bike ride without bringing a phone. However, working out remotely with music is hard because Zepp OS relies on the Zepp app and there are no third-party audio apps (i.e. locally stored media on-watch only).

You can copy a podcast or song to the watch as an MP3 file, but there is no way to stream Apple Music or Pocket Casts.

The creators of Zepp OS want to let third-party apps work with it, but the feature isn’t ready yet. This means that you can’t add new apps to the ones that come with Zepp OS right now, but that may change in the future.

You can expect the usual apps to be included, like a to-do list, flashlight, calendar, and weather app. There are also some nice extras, like a Pomodoro timer and a voice memos feature.

Fitness tracking & performance

  • 150+ sports modes
  • Integrated GPS
  • SpO2 blood oxygen tracking

Luckily, the Amazfit GTR 3 Pro Limited Edition is likely to have a place for your music, even if you don’t like to work out with it.

Running, swimming, cycling? All of the activities on the list are fine, but we were most impressed by the ones that were unexpected and, in some ways, ahead of their time. There are more than 150 that can be tracked, ranging from combat sports like boxing and karate to board games like chess and checkers to a vaguely named “esports workout.”

You can probably track anything you can think of, and while companies like Apple slowly add new workout types every year, it’s nice to see Amazfit just drop everything and say, “Go!”

Not only is your physical output tracked, but a stress tracker can tell you if you need to take a break, and a sleep tracker can not only tell you when you slept but also how well you slept.

But what is my favorite job? With a single tap, you can check your blood oxygen, stress, breathing, and heart rate. When you do this, you get a sort of “health dashboard” that shows you how you’re doing at a glance. After a few days, tapping it often feels almost like a habit.

While devices like the Apple Watch tell users to do things to “close their rings,” the GTR 3 Pro Limited Edition gives you a score based on how active you are over the course of a week. The goal is to keep your score as close to 100 as possible, and it’s a nice way to keep track of things without making you feel bad for taking a day off.

Battery life

  • 440mAh battery
  • Magnetic charging cable (proprietary)
  • Up to 12 days quoted normal usage

Even though the GTR 3 Pro limited edition has a big screen that stays on all the time, animated watch faces, Bluetooth, GPS, and the ability to track activity and sleep, the battery is very good.

Amazfit says that even with heavy use, the battery will last for six days, or 12 days with “regular” use. We had to plug it in after about five and a half years because we worked out regularly and had our vitals checked every day. Amazfit says that with the battery saver mode, you can get 30 days of battery life, and using GPS continuously will give you up to 35 hours, which is a “nice to have” for tracking a marathon or something similar.

Price & availability

As we already said, the Amazfit GTR 3 Pro only comes in two colors: Infinite Black, which has a gunmetal grey chassis and a black strap, and Brown Leather, which has a more natural silver finish and a brown strap.
